World's Largest Solar Plant to be in China

Props to China for being forward thinking and announcing its superproject of constructing the world's largest solar power plant. What will start off as in 30MW plant in the Qaidam Basin will grow and become capable of producing 1 GW of solar energy.

note: 5kW is enough to run a conventional home. Now imagine 1 GW! Yay for alternative energy!

although ironically it takes vast amounts of energy input and produces large amounts of waste in order to manufacture said solar panels, however still a net energy saver in the end.
