Fluxus and Yoko Ono

Yea yea hate on Yoko BUT Grapefruit is too good. I know so because an year after learning about it I still remember how it made me smile or giggle. It's a collection of koans that are delicious

A kōan (公案; Chinese: gōng-àn, Korean: gong'an, Vietnamese: công án) is a story, dialogue, question, or statement in the history and lore of Chán (Zen) Buddhism, generally containing aspects that are inaccessible to rational understanding, yet may be accessible to intuition.

I often think that I speak completely in koans and that's why I decided to post this today. What I say always makes sense in my head and if you really listen is coherent but if you only hear the words it doesn't. Wow even that was a confusing jumble.

example from Grapefruit:

SNOW PIECE

Think that snow is falling. Think that snow is falling

everywhere all the time. When you talk with a person, think

that snow is falling between you and on the person.

Stop conversing when you think the person is covered by snow.

1963[13]

It's all silly little ideas like that some better some worse that I absolutely love. I also like the loose genre of fluxus b.c. it makes me laugh... i like to laugh.
